Jess has extensive experience with both co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders and is especially passionate about working with trauma survivors. She has helped clients with a wide range of co-occurring mental health and substance use diagnoses, from bipolar disorder and depression to schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder. She incorporates narrative and existential theories into her approach and believe that our words have tremendous power and that telling our stories can heal even the deepest wounds. She believes that trauma doesn’t turn people into victims–it creates survivors.
Jess works as part of our Addictions and SUD treatment team and sees clients individually. Jess is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in writing from Clarke University. She channels her love of words and passion for stories into her therapeutic practice.
