Debbie is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor and Licensed Graduate Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling with specialization in addiction counseling. She is a skilled clinician with more than 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families. She has extensive training in a range of psychotherapeutic techniques and tailors her interventions to meet her clients’ unique needs. She believes identifying a therapist for your adolescent, or yourself can be a time- consuming and daunting process. She feels the therapeutic relationship must be the right “fit” for progress to be made. Please feel free to reach out to her with your questions to see if she is the right professional to help.
Her personal recovery fuels her drive to work with clients diagnosed with co-occurring disorders and help them understand the underlying issues that exacerbate other problems. She is best known by clients and colleagues for her authenticity and natural ease at establishing a genuine connection while at the same time being appropriately challenging. Her approach is individualized, holistic, strength-based, client-centered, solution-focused, and comprehensive. She may focus on areas such as exploring longstanding patterns in order to uncover more adaptive and satisfying ways of being. She typically uses Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing techniques in my practice.
