Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Young Adult
Like teens, Young Adults often need specialized treatment. These young adults are not children, nor do many of them have the life experience to manage life in a healthy and productive way on their own. Often young adults in our program have “failed to thrive”. They have not found success in launching into the world. Some are using substances and have not been able to keep a job, and some have returned from college or have not succeeded at college. The ages for this program (18-26) are just a guide; some young adults do better in our adult program. Some may need a different approach and need to be in our young adult program.
Because of this, Congruent Counseling has developed a specialized treatment model appropriate for those young adults who may not wish to attend standard treatment models or who have not been able to succeed at other treatment programs. This program is offered in our Columbia location.
Our IOP Programs are nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) and Licensed by the State of Maryland.
We are in-network with most insurance companies and medicaid. We welcome working with other providers or programs
Statistics
- 65% of substance addicted clients also have depression or some other mental health issue. This statistic holds true for young adults who often have less ability to deal with their issues.
- 50% of clients with mental health issues also self medicate or abuse substances.
Treatment
This is a structured treatment program, licensed by the State of Maryland. Clients may see an individual or family therapist while attending the IOP.
