Ellie Putnam, LCSW-C

Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker-Clinical

Life is hard.  It can help to talk about it.  Ellie aims to create a safe, calm space to identify and address difficulties and assist with making positive change.  Ellie will work with you to create insight, lessen emotional pain and make long-term changes to create a life worth living.  During your first visit you can expect a conversation exploring what brings you to therapy.  You’ll explore together what you are looking for and determine if this therapeutic relationship is a good fit and take it from there.

Ellie has a strong passion for helping others.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) with over 18 years of experience.  She earned her masters degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston College in 2005.  Since then she has worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, home-based care and college counseling centers.

Ellie is a generalist who enjoys working with individuals ages 17 and older. She has extensive experience working with a wide variety of diagnoses and issues including interpersonal-relationship and self-esteem difficulties, parenting struggles, family stress, postpartum issues, grief and loss, fertility issues, identity development, substance use issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, domestic abuse and LGBTQIA+ challenges.  She utilizes a person-centered, solution-focused approach, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), family systems, and psychodynamic models.
