Nadine started her career working within the Baltimore County Department of Social Services providing fieldwork in Baltimore County Schools for 5 years. During that time, Nadine spent time working in community outpatient programs providing outpatient treatment to patients ranging from children through adults. In 2006, she transitioned to a clinical position in the Sheppard Pratt Health System. Nadine worked in the Mann Residential Treatment Center (RTC) and School providing intensive long-term comprehensive individual, family, & group treatment to adolescents and their families for 5 years. She then moved into a supervisory role in the same program where she continued to provide treatment to clients as well as began supervising, educating and training a team of 9+ social workers and counselors on providing DBT treatment. Diagnoses treated included and are not limited to Acute and Chronic Depression, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Behavioral and Conduct Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety and Attachment Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, and Parent-Child Relational Problems.
During Nadine’s tenure at Sheppard Pratt, she also played an integral role in the implementation process of adapting the treatment model of Mann RTC & School to the evidence-based treatment practice of DBT. As part of this process, Nadine participated in over 250 hours of intensive and trauma-focused training on skills acquisition and prolonged exposure. DBT is a treatment that blends elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skill-building. Nadine’s experience creates a treatment environment in which she balances acceptance, change, and a nonjudgmental approach with all individuals with whom she works.
