Rosie Young, LMSW, provides compassionate mental health care to adults of all ages. Her areas of expertise include body image distress, eating disorders, substance use disorders, and working with survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, including emotional abuse.
Rosie has a particular passion for working with those struggling with body image, disordered eating, and the suffering caused by diet culture and weight stigma. She is experienced in helping people to heal the harm inflicted by oppressive body norms and find freedom from body shame.
Rosie believes that the building of genuine trust within the therapeutic relationship allows clients to do profoundly self-reflective work and make transformative changes in their lives.
Rosie uses an individualized approach with each client, recognizing that everyone has unique needs and preferences. She practices from an anti-oppressive framework and draws from psychodynamic, humanistic, and feminist theory as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness.
