Sam Stettler, LMSW, is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work. He is a compassionate and collaborative therapist who works with adults navigating a variety of life challenges including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, boundary issues, men’s issues, and work-related stressors. His approach is grounded in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), problem-solving strategies, and collaborative skill-building. Sam works alongside each client to better understand their concerns, identify practical goals, develop effective coping skills, and build on the strengths they already possess.
Sam has a special interest in working with college students and older adults, while welcoming clients of all backgrounds who are 18 and older. He recognizes that each stage of adulthood brings its own unique challenges and believes therapy should be tailored to the individual, rather than approached with a one-size-fits-all model.
With a background in Exercise Science, Sam also has a strong interest in the connection between physical activity and mental health. He is a passionate advocate for incorporating appropriate physical activity and healthy lifestyle practices into a person’s overall approach to emotional well-being.
Sam strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their own treatment. His goal is to help clients develop practical tools and skills they can use both inside and outside of therapy to navigate challenges and move toward the life they want to build. He is available for both in-person and virtual appointments through the Towson office.
