Erin Linehan, LMSW

Erin Linehan is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with experience providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults for in-person and/or telehealth therapy sessions. Erin’s interest in mental health and passion for working in the service of others lead her to pursue two Bachelor’s degrees during her undergraduate education, where she earned a BA in Sociology from Dickinson College and a BA in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College (UMBC). Erin completed her graduate education at the University of Maryland, School of Social Work, where she earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a primary concentration in Clinical Mental Health and sub-specialization in Families and Children.

Erin is a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist (C-DBT), a Certified Trauma Provider (CTP), and draws from various therapeutic interventions, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Strengths-Based, Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic therapeutic interventions to provide a tailored approach that best meets the unique needs of each individual she works with. Erin is a Cisgender Ally for LGBTQIA+ Rights and works with individuals seeking therapy for depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personality disorders, eating disorders, and suicidal ideation.

Erin believes in meeting individuals where they currently are in their journey and providing guidance and support to help each person determine how to better navigate life’s challenges and achieve their personal goals. Erin uses active listening and validation to provide empathy and understanding while promoting psychoeducation about evidence-based coping skills for distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to empower individuals to live their best lives.
