Hello,
When working with clients, I operate from a person-centered orientation, meaning I believe the therapy space should be a safe space where clients feel comfortable exploring uncomfortable feelings, thoughts, emotions, without judgement or being subject to biases. I believe one of the most important parts of building an effective therapeutic alliance is to “meet people where they are”, as the adage goes. My attitude of non-judgement in treatment applies to all walks of life, sexual orientations, cultures, etc. I also consider my approach to therapy eclectic, as I borrow from multiple treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and others when conceptualizing and treating clients. I have experience working with several populations and concerns through my graduate-level internship, as well as my undergraduate internship, which includes Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Grief, Substance Use Disorders (SUD), ADHD, spiritual concerns, and dual diagnosis (SUD and Mental Health).
